Review: Alligator Flash Designer is an application that allows you to build animations (e.g. banners) for webpages. The softwares interface is user-friendly and you can design a project from scratch or use one of the available templates. Thus, you can use basic tools (e.g. zoom, select, add text), import images and GIF animations, launch FTP, export a SWF file or webpage, create slideshows, insert a hyperlink and share items between frames. You can also position accurately (by using arrow keys), insert rulers, align objects, enable grid, resize and rotate items, mirror and overlap objects. Furthermore, you can create a master frame, change the frame background or make it transparent, make clones, draw shapes and lines, edit nodes, use gradient fill for text, tween animations, synchronize effects and enable glyph animation. In addition, you can create web links, add and design buttons, create a 3D look or glow effect with vertical gradients, add background sounds, export transparent Flash animations, convert to sprite, balance colors, loop animations, and more. The application uses a low amount of system resources, includes a well-drawn help file and getting started wizards and didn cause us any problems during our tests. The Undo button can take you only one step back, but theres no Redo button. The fact of the matter is that Alligator Flash Designer is a very good tool that can come to the aid of novices (especially), when it comes to developing website animations. We strongly recommend it if you are new to the Flash-designing environment. |
