Review: Registry Defragmentation is a simple-to-use program with advanced settings for performing a defrag job on the Windows Registry. It caters to all types of users who want to better manage their system. The main application window is clean and intuitive, providing quick access to all main features, namely registry defragmentation, system and registry backup, and registry defrag scheduler. A defrag job can be easily carried out using a wizard-like layout. You can select the registry hives and click the Go! button to initialize the operation. A report shows a graphical representation of initial and resulted registry defragmentation, including user data, fragmented and cleared blocks, fragmentation percentage, speed, time, and registry size. In order to apply the new modifications, it is required to perform a system reboot, but doing this immediately is not mandatory. Backing up or restoring the registry is done in a similar manner. The system backup module is not very different from the one built into Windows. In fact, it requires the OS service to run. You can backup and restore the system as well as delete backups. As far as configuration is concerned, you can indicate the maximum amount of disk space used for restore points (in percentage), global time interval for automatic system checkpoint creation, along with the restore points lifespan. Last but not least, it is possible to schedule as many one-time or recurring registry defrag jobs as you want, as well as execute additional parameters (e.g. reboot computer without a prompt, set program priority to high, start the tool in minimized form). Registry Defragmentation completes a task rapidly and without errors. It has a very good response time and doesn cause Windows to hang or crash. Although some of its features are offered by the OS by default, Registry Defragmentation implements a nifty set of configuration parameters for scheduling registry defrag jobs. |
