Review: As its name implies, Bingo! DVD Ripper II is a piece of software that can rip DVD videos and turn them into other types, namely AVI, WMV and MPG (VCD or DVD). The interface of the application is plain and easy to work with. You can import a DVD folder or IFO file by using either the file browser or folder view. It is possible to process multiple DVD movies in a single session. The file queue provides specific information on each item, namely the name, duration and number of chapters for each DVD video. So, all you have to do is specify the output directory and profile, in order to proceed with the conversion procedure. Before doing so, you must also select a video codec from the drop-down list in the Config area. Additionally, you can choose the audio codec format (WAV, MP3, ACM, disable) and configure audio settings when it comes to the bit rate, quality and channel mode, along with lowpass and highpass filtering. Too bad you cannot reset these settings to default. Furthermore, you can preview clips in a small, built-in media player and split movies by time or size, as well a select the zoom level, index and angle, along with the audio language and subtitle track. In the Preferences area you can set the aspect ratio for the preview window, disable the audio or video stream while playing and set Bingo! DVD Ripper II to automatically power off the computer when all tasks are done. Other DVD modifications can be made in regard to the audio sample rate, output frame rate, deinterlace and luminance filter, subtitle offset and color, as well as audio and video synchronization. These options can be reset to their standard values. The DVD processing program requires a moderate amount of system resources, in order to finish a task in reasonable time. It includes a help file and delivers a good image and sound quality in the output videos. We have not come across any issues throughout our testing. On the downside, you cannot specify the thread priority or minimize Bingo! DVD Ripper II to the system tray. No recent updates have been made. |
