Review: DVDINFOPro is a DVD information tool that scans the computer and provides details not only about CD and DVD drives, but also about other important areas of the system. Basically, DVDINFOPro is more like a pack of tools for DVD-ROM players, supporting at the same time Blu-ray and HD-DVD, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW burners and DVD+R Double Layer devices. While the interface may appear a bit complicated at first sight and beginners may need a few minutes to discover all the hidden sides of the app, DVDINFOPro provides multiple utilities besides the one supposed to show information about hardware components. For instance, you can test the Flash RAM size and initiate a sector test, compute MD5 of a disc, file or folder, show complete media code and blocks from media, send custom command, perform DCErase for QSI/NU drives and show drive supported mode pages. Besides information on a specific drive, DVDINFOPro sports a dedicated tool for system information, with details regarding the operating system, BIOS, CPU, video card, network, memory, partitions and installed hardware. While all these details are displayed in a few seconds after launching the dedicated tools, DVDINFOPro needs a few minutes to perform a test, with a minimum footprint on computer resources. Overall, DVDINFOPro is a handy software solution, but it still needs some improvements, especially when it comes to the way it looks.
