Review: As the name suggests, Data Entry Test is a simple-to-use program which allows you to assess your data entry skills when it comes to typing speed and accuracy. It can be easily used, even by inexperienced individuals. The interface of the application is based on a standard window and an intuitive layout. So, you can select an option between numeric, alphanumeric and alpha test. Once you have entered your first and last name, you can proceed with the test you have chosen. Depending on its type, you can either write numbers, text (first name, last name, city), or both (invoice number, invoice data, amount, first name, last name, street, city). In case of every test, you have a time limit of three minutes. Once the results are in, you can check out the gross and net keywords per hour, accuracy, total pressed keys, total fields and errors, along with the duration, test type and test date. This list can be sorted according to the test type, or printed for further analysis. The straightforward software application requires a pretty low amount of CPU and system memory, and is very responsive to key strokes and mouse commands. We have not encountered any problems during our evaluation; Data Entry Test did not freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs. Its interface could be improved from the visual point of view. But we must take into consideration the fact that Data Entry Test has not been updated for a while. |
